We meet at 1:30 pm on the third Sunday of each month, unless it conflicts with a holiday. We take a break during the long, hot summer months, so meetings aren’t formally held in June, July, and August unless by special arrangement. Those special summer meetings when arranged permitted members to get together for build sessions. Our home base is classroom 126A in the Engineering Tech building on the campus of Wake Technical Community College.
Additionally, several ES members get together on the 1st Monday of each month for an informal dinner at a local restaurant. See calendar for more information on locations.
How do I get to Wake Tech?
Looking at the event calendar there will be a clickable google map link for best directions otherwise follow below:
Heading east on I-40 in Raleigh, take exit 298A (the exit sign reads “401-70-50 Fayetteville Garner”) and turn right onto highway 70/401.
Take this road for about one and half miles, staying in the right lanes. Highway 401 forks to the right, with an exit sign that reads “401 Fuquay-Varina Fayetteville Wake Tech Col.”
Proceed on Highway 401 for another seven miles until you come across the Wake Tech campus (9101 Fayetteville Road) on the left.
Turn left onto Tech Road, which is the first street past the stoplight in front of Wake Tech. Proceed on Tech Road to the very back of the campus, and turn left into Parking Area F.
Since we meet on Sundays, the only cars in the parking lot usually belong to IPMS Eagle Squadron members.
After parking, enter the walkway from the parking lot. The Engineering Tech building (painted white) will be on your left and Ready Hall (in brick) on your right. About 100 meters directly ahead, the white double doors of classroom 126A will be at the end of the walkway.
