Title: Spanky McFarland passed away Oct. 10, 2020...

Longtime Eagle Squadron member James “Spanky” McFarland passed away this past Saturday Oct. 10. Spanky was a prolific airplane and armor modeler, and he won many awards at all levels with his high-quality work. He will be missed. He is survived by his sister Ann who lives in Raleigh.

He was quite the character and model builder. He will be missed.

So sad to hear about Spanky. He was quite the artist with models. I'll sure miss him. He made me so much better as a modeler.

Sorry to hear about Spanky's passing.  He was a gifted modeler -- one of the best in the world in my opinion.  He also was quite a character and one of a kind.  I hope he's enjoying that big hobby shop in the sky.  Vaya con dios, amigo.

My condolences to Spanky's family. He was quite a character and a heck of a modeler. I didn't know he was a fellow MTSU Blue Raider.

Rest in Peace Spanky. You were truly a gifted model builder, I enjoyed the color you brought to the conversations, and your contribution within the Eagle Squadron Club over the years. Thank you for that.
